Car

Eurotunnel doesn't need much of an introduction, and a lot of our visitors choosing to drive through France (and why not, it's a lovely drive!) go via Eurotunnel. It's only a 35 minute crossing, and you're straight out onto the major road network once you come out of the Calais terminal. From there it's about a 4½ hour drive to Les Vallees but we find a lot of people stop off at the beautiful city of Rouen - roughly half way. We're told by some of our visitors that there's a very welcoming café and nearby parking in Bourgtheroulde infreville which is just South of Rouen. Please note that for the toll roads (Peage) you'll probably need about 30 - 35 euros from Calais but if you fancy the scenic route and you're handy with a map or a sat nav then you'll pass through some lovely villages & countryside and it will only take about an hour longer.

Operating between Folkestone and Calais, the tunnel has regular crossings (around 3 per hour during peak times) and there's no fuel or luggage restrictions as you might find on some of the ferries.
